To the Table: A Journey of Letting Go and Stepping Into Love

A Quiet Place for Two

Some burdens we carry for far too long. The weight of family expectations, the echoes of manipulation, the scars left by people who never truly saw us. We hold onto them, sometimes without realizing how heavy they’ve become. Until one day, we’re invited to lay them down.

For years, I carried more than my share. I carried the wounds of a mother who only saw me as an extension of herself, a marriage where I was unseen, and relationships where I was always left questioning my worth. I carried the weight of doing everything alone—making sure everyone else was okay while quietly unraveling inside.

But I didn’t have to.

A Chair That Waited for Me

There’s a line in To the Table that hits deep: “There’s a chair that waits for you.” For so long, I didn’t believe that. I thought peace was for other people, that love had to be fought for, that maybe I just wasn’t meant to be chosen. But the truth is, I was always meant to have a place at the table. I just needed to see it.

Walking away from what broke me wasn’t easy. The manipulation, the gaslighting, the way my family turned me into the villain for choosing myself—it all made me doubt whether I was making the right decision. But the moment I stopped standing in the shadows of guilt, I saw the light.

I saw that I didn’t have to keep proving my worth to people who never appreciated it. I saw that love wasn’t supposed to feel like a battle to be won. I saw that my place had always been there—I just had to take it.

Bringing It All to the Table

“For all your sin, all your sorrow, and your sadness, there’s a Savior and He calls—bring it all to the table.”

For so long, I held everything inside. The pain, the resentment, the exhaustion of being the strong one. I told myself I had to push through, had to hold it together, had to be what everyone else needed me to be. But there’s freedom in surrender. There’s peace in laying it all down.

For me, love became my table. Love became the place where I could finally lay everything down—the burdens, the doubts, the fears. It became my safe space, my belonging, my home.

Love showed up in the form of someone who saw me—truly saw me. Someone who didn’t ask me to change, didn’t make me prove my worth, didn’t make me question if I was enough. Someone who simply said, “Come as you are.”

And for the first time, I believed it.

No One is Turned Away

There was a time when I believed I had to earn love, that I had to fight for a place in someone’s heart. But real love doesn’t work that way.

The love I’ve found doesn’t ask me to shrink. It doesn’t require me to be perfect. It doesn’t keep me at a distance, waiting for me to prove I deserve it.

It welcomes me home.

This isn’t about a relationship—it’s about stepping into a life that feels authentic, whole, and real. It’s about realizing that love—real, grounding, unwavering love—doesn’t push you away. It invites you in.

Grounded in Love, Rooted in Freedom

In the same way that Sparrow Trades carefully crafts each piece with intention, I am crafting this new life with care, with meaning, with purpose. The weight of what was no longer defines me. The guilt, the doubts, the people who couldn’t love me as I am—they are no longer mine to carry.

I am here. I am home. And for the first time, I am free.

Because the most powerful love isn’t the one that makes you fight to be chosen. It’s the one that simply opens the door and says, “Come in.”
