Hey Megs,
I want to talk to you about something important—something that’s been on my heart.
You’re about to turn 18, and I know that comes with a lot of emotions. For you… and for me too. You’ve grown into such an incredible young woman, and I couldn’t be prouder of the person you are.
I also want you to know that I’m making some big changes in my life. Changes I’ve put off for a long time to make sure you and your sister were taken care of. Now, I’m finally choosing something that’s for me—my peace, my healing, my happiness.
I’m not abandoning you—I could never do that. You are forever my daughter and my heart. I’m always just a phone call or flight away. You will always have a place with me, no matter where I am.
What I hope you see is that it’s okay to choose yourself. It’s okay to leave behind things that no longer serve you. And it’s okay to believe that love and healing are still out there, even after everything.
